Candidate Comment

I am a 10-year resident of Danvers, having lived on the North Shore all my life. Married to a wonderful guy for 22+ years, I'm also Mom to an awesome 3rd grader at Thorpe School. I graduated from Peabody High in 1973 and later received my Bachelor’s in Business Administration (Summa Cum Laude) from Northeastern University.

My professional career encompassed many demanding management-level positions in the high-tech industry. Currently I work for Nofco Printing, a small entrepreneurial company in Danvers. I work a less-than-full-time schedule, enabling me to devote more energy to my family, especially to raising our son, and to contribute more to my community.

My volunteer commitments currently include Cub Scouts, Thorpe School, Danvers American Little League, DEEP, and St. Richard’s CCD program. As a founding member of CARES, I believed in the importance of providing Danvers residents with factual information and encouraging continued community involvement in the process to find a solution to our Middle and High School building issues. I'm also an active member of Reunite Danvers.

I regularly attend Selectman, School Committee, BAC, and Finance Committee meetings. I believe Danvers is a well-managed town, not only because of the caliber of professionals we attract and retain, but because of our citizens and elected officials who refuse to become complacent, but diligently stay involved, ask questions, and provide input. I am dedicated to staying involved and working toward solutions that will keep Danvers strong.

I fully support the efforts of the BAC and the current school building plan and I support our town government’s efforts to develop a funding solution that works for all our residents. I intend to vote in support of funding the Design Phase of the school building project to secure a position on the state’s reimbursement list, to help prevent further degradation of our accreditation, and to avoid wasting an additional $7M. I ask for one of your votes for Town Meeting in Precinct 6.

Thank you.
