Candidate Comment :

Hello, my name is Gardner Trask and I would like to represent you on the Danvers Board of Selectman.

First, I would offer some biographical information; I am 40 years old, I have a Bachelors from Salem State, and a MBA from Cambridge College. I am a software development manager. I am blessed with a wonderful family; My wife Patricia and I have been married for 17 years. We have three children. Four generations of Gardner Trask's have lived in the home my grandfather built at 31 Fellows Street.

Some of my recent public service to the town includes:

* Twice elected as a Town Meeting Member.

* Service on the Airport Commission and Municipal Light Board.

* Service on the 250th Anniversary Parade Committee

* Member; Family Festival, Kawanis, Polish club, and Knights of Columbus.

* Co-Chair of the Flagpole Island Beautification Committee.

My candidacy for Selectman is a natural extension of my desire to help the residents of Danvers.

I firmly believe I have the communication skills, the problems solving techniques and the background to provide sound decisions for ALL citizens.

And, while it may seem that this upcoming election will be focused primarily the Holten-Richmond question, this is far from a 'one-issue' race. We have many matters that have to be attended to; from the everyday concerns about traffic and over-development, to the larger problems of State aid cuts, adequate water supply, and developers abuse of the 40B loopholes.

As to the Holten-Richmond issue, I am committed to moving this project forward for the sake of our children and our educators. I believe that by using the debt exclusion as a reserve credit line, by judiciously cutting the budget, and by earmarking State Hospital income, we can strike a balance of limited impact without drastic loss of service or personnel. If the opportunity presents itself, I would encourage everyone to vote Yes on May 6th.

To accomplish my service goals, I will need your support. I would kindly ask that on Tuesday May 6th, you cast your vote for Gardner Trask.

Thank you
